In Telangana 1,700 traffic violations occurred every hour in last year, challans worth Rs 519 crore issued in the entire year

Telangana Traffic Police, Traffic Violence in Telangana, The statistics of last year’s traffic infractions committed by Telangana Traffic Police have been made public. According to police data, an average of 1,731 challans were issued by traffic police each hour last year. 1,51,63,986 instances of breaking traffic laws were reported in the previous year.

The state of Telangana‘s drivers is getting to the point where, despite receiving several challans and penalties, they no longer take responsibility for halting traffic infractions. The state’s average hourly rate of traffic infractions in 2023 was 1,731, per the statistics. The advancement of technology has made it simpler to find and prosecute traffic offenders.

There are more and more cases. A punishment of Rs 519 crore was levied on 1,51,63,986 traffic infringement incidents that were reported to the state in the previous year. This indicates that 41,544 traffic infraction incidents are reported daily on average, with fines of up to Rs 1.42 crore levied. This is not typical behavior.

Imposing penalties serves primarily as a tool to make offenders more conscious and accountable. They are willing to pay the fee in spite of this, yet they are still breaking the law. The state capital’s traffic issue is becoming worse. Both large and small communities in the state are experiencing an increase in traffic issues due to the growing number of automobiles.

In addition to building infrastructure, appropriate supervision is needed to address these issues. Anywhere on the road that a car stops might cause issues. Violations such as cars traveling through red lights and on a one-way street in the other direction exacerbate the issues. Even one noncompliant person among a hundred has an effect on the others.

During rush hour, traffic on a road will stop even if only one person stops a car. For this reason, the traffic police file reports against those who break the law. CCTV cameras are another way that cases are registered. Penalties are applied based on the specific infraction. The cars are seized if these are not paid. But in spite of this, infractions continue to occur.
